 Welcome to the new Kartel Online Shopping website. John Swan Ltd was established in 1947 by my father John Joseph Swan, a master Tailor. In those early days the company specialised in producing mens and boys suits, jackets, and trousers.
I joined the company in 1972 and we diversified into casual wear and leather jackets. Following on to the growth in this area we registered the name Kartel, which since 1985 has been used on our premium clothing ranges.
In 1997 we signed a long-term sponsorship contract with Padraig Harrington. This assisted John Swan Ltd. in our drive to break into the international market. We sell our products in Ireland, the U.K., USA, Canada, Scandinavia, France, Spain, South Africa and a number of other European countries.
In May 2003 we moved to a purpose built premises in Finglas, ten minutes from Dublin Airport. This state of the art fully automated facility has a number of showrooms, enabling us to show not just our Kartel range of casual wear, but also our fashion ranges, formal suit collections, jackets and trousers in several different environments. Bringing the company to where it is today; the largest supplier of menswear in Ireland.
